There are openings for graduate research assistantships (GRAs) at the present. Basic knowledge of biology, optical diagnostics, micro/nanofabrication, and image processing (MATLAB) would be helpful. The candidate will have an unique opportunity to investigate bacterial actuation systems, nanopore sensors, and optical diagnostics for bionanotechnology.

For undergraduate students, there are many opportunities to study cross-field research with his/her choice of experiment in the emerging area of biological transports in micro/nano scale fluidic environments.
